VINYL TAPES:

PLYCOM® T-818 (G-Vinyl)
PLYWRAP® 11 Vinyl Corrosion Protection Tape (E-Vinyl)

PLYCOM® T-818 (G-Vinyl)

Designed specifically to meet the exacting requirements of the communications industry. T-818 is fully conformable at 0°F (-18°C) and pulls smoothly from roll at maximum splicing speeds without breaking, yet retains its strength and adhesion at elevated temperatures. Once wrapped T-818 stays down from -40°F to +176°F (-40°C to 80°C). MIL-I-24391C. "G" Vinyl Specification 8726.

PLYWRAP® 11 Vinyl Corrosion Protection Tape (E-Vinyl)

A strong physical barrier which is moisture-proof, inert and non-conducting. Used for protecting splice cases, load coil cases, conduit, and other areas. Provides atmospheric, galvanic, fungal, and bacterial protection. "E" vinyl Specification 8035.

RUBBER TAPES:

COHESIVE RUBBER TAPE (CR)
DOUBLE RUBBER TAPE (DR)
150 ASTM RUBBER TAPE

COHESIVE RUBBER TAPE (CR)

Consists of one soft, uncured layer bonded to a cured, abrasion-resistant layer. Unique separator allows controlled removal at the user's discretion. An air-tight, water-proof, gas-tight seal is formed when the uncured layer is bonded to itself. The industry standard for temporary splice coverings on communication and control cables. Maintains gas pressure in pressurized cable. Communications Industry Specification 7144.

Product specifications

DOUBLE RUBBER TAPE (DR)

Non-adhesive, self-bonding communications tape used for critical sealing and re-jacketing. One layer of uncured compound permanently fused to an abrasion-resistant layer of cured rubber. Easy-tear separator. Controlled unwind. Full or half-lapped, a strong bond develops between both plies to maintain gas pressure in pressurized cables. Communications Industry DR Specifications TL-192 and 6863.

Product specifications

150 ASTM RUBBER TAPE

A 30-mil (0,76 mm) self-amalgamating, low voltage rubber tape that can be used for insulating cable splices through 2kV, in conjunction with a jacketing tape. Compatible with low and high density polyethylene and polypropylene PIC cables plus all rubber and PVC cable elements. 150 ASTM conforms easily and self-amalgamates into a homogenous, void-free mass to provide an effective moisture seal. ASTM-D-4388, Communications Industry Specification 6746.

SPECIAL ITEMS:

100 ASTM Friction Tape
77 PLYGLAS® - Pressure Sensitive Glass Cloth Tape
53 PLYARC® Arc- and Fire-Proofing Tape

100 ASTM Friction Tape

Made from first-quality sheeting impregnated with a special rubber compound. Superior strength, resistance to abrasion and excellent adhesion on smooth, rough or irregular surfaces. ASTM friction tape is an economical, general purpose tape used in a variety of applications such as cover tape over splicing and filler compounds, anchoring tape or splice overwrap, and more. Will not dry out or unravel. Communications Industry Specification 6747.

Product specifications

77 PLYGLAS® - Pressure Sensitive Glass Cloth Tape

A dense weave fiberglas fabric, impregnated and coated with a pressure sensitive thermosetting adhesive. Plyglas is heat and flame resistant, noncorrosive and will provide continuous 266°F (130°C) service. The high tensile strength of 77 Plyglas assures the user of long lasting, dependable, mechanical reinforcement and thermal protection. 77 Plyglas can be used to hold arc- and fire-proof tape in place on cables or whenever high temperature protection and mechanical strength is needed. Communication Industry Specification 7611, MIL-I-15126F/GFT.

Product specifications

53 PLYARC® Arc- and Fire-Proofing Tape

A 30 mil (0,76mm) elastomeric tape that provides excellent flame and arc protection for all types of cables. When exposed to flame, 53 Plyarc will generate a thermally insulating residue for cable protection. Use on cable conduit where added fire protection is required. Excellent flexibility and conformability for easy application.

INSULATING MASTICS:

4000 PLYSEAL®-V Vinyl Mastic (VM)
10 PLYSEAL® Insulating Mastic
Waterseal Mastic

4000 PLYSEAL®-V Vinyl Mastic (VM)

Used for encapsulating and sealing sub-surface and overhead cases and auxiliary sleeves, ducts, and cable ends. Excellent for sheath and conduit repairs. Impervious to ozone, fresh water, salt water, and soil chemicals. Vinyl film backing provides mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. Plyseal-V is preferred for cold weather applications; it maintains flexibility and a tight seal even when subjected to extreme flexing. Holds fast and permanently to metal and all types of rubber and synthetic cable elements.

Product specifications

10 PLYSEAL® Insulating Mastic

A self-amalgamating, insulating mastic for insulating and sealing all types of overhead and direct buried electrical connections up to 600 Volts. 10 Plyseal has superior adhesion to metals, cable insulations, and jackets with no adverse effect on polymeric conducting shields. For watersealing duct work, cable ends, and all types of splices.

Product specifications

Waterseal Mastic

A self-amalgamating, mechanical grade mastic used for sealing and waterproofing. Excellent adhesion to metals, cable insulations, and jackets. Soft, malleable nature makes Waterseal ideal for molding and conforming to irregular shapes. Use in conjunction with Plymouth's premium tapes for optimum performance.
